ISRO’s (Polar satellite launch vehicle) PSLV-C38 has launched successfully 712 kg cartosat -2 series along with 30 co passenger satellites.This was from the first launch pad sathish dhawan space centre in sriharikota at 9:29 am on Friday ie 23 rd June .This was the 40th flight of PSLV and 17th flight of PSLV in ‘XL’ configuration.It was for the earth observation. There were satellites of different countries which were successfully carried into the polar Sun synchronous orbit at an altitude of 505 km. From the time of take off ,it has taken 16.71 minutes to put it on to the orbit..
Specifications of rocket:
It has carried away the weight of about 955 mgs.
This was sent to examine that “Is it possible to put different satellites in different orbits sent from a rocket at a time?”. Previously two were sent through the pslv but it has failed to examine .This is the third attempt .
PSLV -C38 has took cartosat2 series,satellite made by Nurul Islam university students (NIUSAT) ,10 satellitesof USA,the satellites of Belgium,UK,Italy each 3 ,the other countries Austria,Chile,Czech republic ,finland,France,Germany,Japan,latvia,Lithuania,Slovakia has each 1 satellite.
Cartosat2 series working:
Cartosat 2 has life time of 5years.This has panchromatic and multispectral cameras .This takes the pictures in 2 colours.This pictures can be used for the cartographic applications,urban and rural applications,coastal land use and regulations, water supply, mapping, remote sensing. This would play key role for the defence force .
It is designed to provide multi-spectral imagery for agricultural crop monitoring and disaster management support applications.
