‘Total’ built by hike to send messages ,read news without internet

Messaging app Hike launched ‘Total’ on Wednesday by Kavin Bharti Mitral. Total allows users to access some services such as messages, recharges, news , booking tickets without any data. ‘Total’ will be pre-installed in certain inexpensible smart phones like Intex and Karbonn ,will become available to access on March 1st. ‘Hike Total’ is totally based on the USSD technology to allow data transfer without any internet.

It is going to be available across airtel ,aircel, BSNL networks among 4 devices namely Intex Aqua Lions N1 ,Aqua Lions T1 , Aqua Lions T1 lite, karbonn A4. Hike Total users will also get the amount of Rs. 200 into the hike wallet which can be used up for any of the ‘Total ‘ services only when they buy a selected mobiles.

Mittal said “If an Indian wants to get connected to the internet for the first time, the journey is not easy “.Total would be easy to get connected to it.Users only need to login with a phone number to access all the services such as messaging, news, horoscope, buying recharge, cricket scores, rail ticket booking, which take 100 kb to 1 MB data. To do this they could buy data packs starting at Rs 1 per 20 MB.Mittal said that taxi booking feature is also coming soon.


It cannot transfer picture which can be done only through the internet. Users need to buy the data while watching videos, pictures etc. Users can also stay offline once after the required file/image is sent.Main goal is to bring the nextbilions of internet users online. If you want to get a cricket score then no need send typing cricscore to a number. Just you need to tap on a score button which will be present on your interface. Immediately Total will let you know the score.
